8x8 on Hire2Retire uses API Key.

An API key is an identifier assigned to an API client, used to authenticate an application calling the API. It is typically a unique alphanumeric string included in the API call, which the API receives and validates.

Generate API Key Token in 8x8

API Key Token can be obtained by a 8x8 enterprise admin user by visiting the Admin Console at https://admin.8x8.com.

An authentication API Token may be obtained from 8x8 admin console as follows:

  1. Navigate to 8x8 admin console at https://admin.8x8.com
  2. Enter your admin user crendentials and click on Login.

  3. On the home page, click on identity and Security.

  4. In the User Provisioning Integration(SCIM) section, select Other SCIM Provider and copy both the 8x8 URL and 8x8 API Token. This URL and API Token will be required while creating a connection with 8x8 on Hire2Retire.

To link your 8x8 account using API Key Token, you have to specify your 8x8 Instance URL, Cutomer ID and API Key Token.

  1. Instance URL: Instance URL for 8x8 is unique enterprise account URL which provide the access to the 8x8 admin console. This can be obtained from 8x8 admin console as mentioned above.
  2. Customer ID: The customer ID is a way for 8x8 to associate specific account information and services with a particular customer. This can be obtained from the 8x8 account instance url just after the /customers/.
  3. API Token: 8x8 API Token can be obtained from 8x8 admin console as mentioned above. API Token gives necessary permissions to provision and deprovision the user on 8x8.

Once the connection is established successfully, then you can define the roles and mapping on Hire2Retire Provisioning.
