Event Notification
Connect iPaaS Event Notification allows you to be notified of the event processing alerts in case of error or warnings in a running workflow. These notifications are based on the information that is visually available in the Observe Pane on Connect iPaaS as real-time analytics.
Event Notification allows a user to set notifications via Email or SMS. You as a user can choose to be alerted or notified for all the events processed by a workflow or just the errors encountered. Event notification set up can be done on the User Profile page.
You will need to set up an email server, an SMS provider connection, and choose the default notification level. Connect iPaaS supports SMS notification using Twilio telecom APIs.
Note: For the SMS notification, you will need a Twilio account to send the SMS from.
On this setup page, you will be able to choose whether to enable or disable notifications for all the flows on your account. This will be the DEFAULT setting that can be overridden for a specific flow at the design time or from the Manage Pane.
Email Notification Settings¶
To enable events notification via email, you will need to define destination email address to send the notification to and the notification level - All or Error. You will also need to toggle the default behavior of the event notification to on or off for all the workflows. You can provide multiple email addresses separated by spaces to notify more than one destination email. All of this set up can be done on the User Profile page as shown in the image below.
Once you set up the email notification settings on the User Profile page, these settings will be visible on each of the workflows just before you deploy it. You will be able to override the default notification settings, including destination emails and notification levels as shown in the image below. Here you can also toggle on or off the event notification for that specific workflow.
SMS Notification Settings¶
To enable events notification via SMS, you will need to set up your Twilio account and then link the Twilio account to Connect iPaaS for sending the SMS. This connection set up can be done on the User Profile page as shown in the image below.
Once the Twilio Connection has been set up, you can choose the From Number in your Twilio account. All the available From numbers in your Twilio account will be available in the dropdown to choose from. You can configure the phone numbers to which you want to send the event notification alerts via SMS. You can add as many destination phone numbers as you want.
As shown in the image below, you can set up the notification level - All or Error and the default SMS notification on or off for all the workflows in the account.
Once you set up the SMS notification settings on the User Profile page, these settings will be available on each of the workflows just before you deploy it. You will be able to override the default notification settings including Twilio connection, destination SMS, and notification level as shown in the image below. Here you can also toggle on or off the event notification for that specific workflow.
Toggle Event Notification for Individual Flows on Manage Page¶
Connect iPaaS Manage page provides a global toggle button at the top to Enable or Disable event notifications for all flows. In the card view and the list view on the Manage page, it also provides a toggle button on each individual flow to turn on or off event notification for that specific flow.
Refer to the image below where these toggle buttons are marked in red.
