Nexmo Triggers

Currently, Connect iPaaS provides one trigger for Nexmo.

The Nexmo trigger on Connect iPaaS is a real-time webhook trigger. which checks for the SMS received on your Nexmo Virtual Phone Number.

Setting up Trigger for your Workflow

To illustrate how to setup a Nexmo trigger, we will take a scenario where you are using Nexmo Virtual Number as a helpline chat number. A customer can text their help requests to your Nexmo number when they need help.

Setup the Phone Number on Nexmo

Before you can setup a Nexmo trigger you will need to rent a Nexmo virtual phone number. To rent a vitual number you will need to go to your Nexmo console, click Numbers, click Buy numbers, then click Buy. A more in depth guide is located on Nexmo's Rent a virtual number page

After you have rented a virtual number you can click on the Mobile Number dropdown and select your virtual number you will want your customers to send their help requests to.

Setup the Connect iPaaS trigger

To get this flow up and running on Connect iPaaS, you need to select a Nexmo number that you expect your customers to send their help requests to.

Steps to set up integration in Nexmo

Next, you will setup how Nexmo integrates with Connect iPaaS and send SMS events to. To do this, you will need to go into your Nexmo account and do the following to make sure Nexmo sends those events to Connect iPaaS:

  1. Copy the URL created by Connect platform.
  2. Go to Nexmo Dashboard.
  3. Click on "Numbers".
  4. Click on "Your Numbers".

  5. Click on the Edit icon in manage column.

  6. Paste the copied webhook URL in the "Inbound Webhook URL" field and Save it.
