Nexmo Actions¶
Actions are the operations (or API operations) that you can perform on Nexmo.
You can simply drag & drop attributes from input trigger, derive values using formulas or constants that you may wish to map with Nexmo.
All of the actions that you see below automate the flows you execute manually on Nexmo.
As shown below, you can Create Call or Send SMS in your Nexmo application based on response to a trigger event.
Setting up Nexmo action in your workflow¶
The following sections will further explain what you need to configure when creating a call or sending a text message using Nexmo.
Create Call¶
After selecting the action type as "Create Call" as shown in Figure 1, you will need to configure how and when calls are made.
Parameters | Description |

From Number | Nexmo virtual number that will make the call. You can select your number from the dropdown list of your rented virtual Nexmo phone numbers |
To | Nexmo number that you would like the call to be sent to |
Text | This is the what Nexmo's text-to-voice will read from, in order to create the voice call |
Voice Gender | Male or Female voice |
Voice Name | Accent and Language of the playback message |
Send SMS¶
After selecting the action as "Send SMS" as shown in Figure 1, you will need to configure how the SMS message will be sent using the following parameters.
Parameters | Description |

From Number | Your Nexmo virtual number that the SMS message will be sent from. You can select this number from the drop down list of your already rented virtual Nexmo numbers. |
To | The number you would like to send the SMS message to. |
Text | The actual text message that you want to send over SMS. |
