Azure AD Overview

Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) is Microsoft’s cloud-based identity and access management service, which helps your employees sign in and access resources in:

  • External resources, such as Microsoft Office 365, the Azure portal, and thousands of other SaaS applications.
  • Internal resources, such as apps on your corporate network and intranet, along with any cloud apps developed by your own organization.

Azure AD on Connect iPaaS

Connect iPaaS enables you to integrate Azure AD with other SaaS and enterprise applications. You can build a workflow to manage user or group objects based on certain events in other applications. Conversely, you can perform actions on other applications based on changes of users or groups in your Azure AD account.

Users

User represents an Azure AD user account.

Groups

Groups are collections of users and other principals who share access to resources in Microsoft services or in your app. Connect iPaaS supports two types of groups:
1. Office 365 Group: Facilitating user collaboration with shared Microsoft online resources.
2. Security Group: Controlling user access to in-app resources.
